Elizabeth M. Baar (nee Hofferberth) age 94, beloved wife of the late Erich Theodore; loving mother of Caroline “Carrie” Wilford (husband Thomas) of Euclid; cherished sister of Margot James; preceded in death by two brothers: Karl and  Arthur, and four sisters: Erna, Margarethe, Elfriede, and Ruth; dear aunt and great aunt of many.

Elizabeth was born and educated in Karlsruhe, Germany and moved with her husband Erich Theodore Baar to the USA in 1948.  She  loved classical music and had the pleasure of hearing her husband play the cello with the Cleveland Orchestra under the direction of George Szell. Elizabeth was a homemaker who had a great many interests.  She loved the Browns, Indians, and Cavs as she loved all sports.  Her family, who gave her great enjoyment, benefitted from her love of baking and sewing.  She also loved reading and traveling.  She will be remembered by her family and friends as a very spirited lady who was generous, determined, independent, and with a great sense of humor.

Contributions may be made in Elizabeth’s name to the Lake County Humane Society, 7564 Tyler Blvd., Ste. E, Mentor, OH 44060.

Celebration of Life Service Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 10:30 AM AT THE FUNERAL HOME. Burial following at Knollwood Cemetery.  Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Elizabeth at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) on WEDNESDAY 5-8 PM.
