Eleanor K. Riznar

ELEANOR K. RIZNAR (nee Pavli) age 96, beloved wife for 63 years of the late Robert; loving mother of Joseph, and Janet Bay (husband James); devoted grandmother of Ryan Waggoner (Natalie Henry); cherished daughter of the late John and Katie (nee Markic) Pavli; dearest sister of Albert Pavli (wife Patricia deceased); dear aunt and great-aunt of many. 

Eleanor was born November 15, 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from Collinwood High School in 1945. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Dyke & Spencerian College. As a 60-year resident of Richmond Heights, she was a member of St. Felicitas Catholic Church, which became St. John of the Cross Parish. Eleanor was also a member of the Richmond Heights Garden Club and the Richmond Heights Seniors Club. For 21 years, she was employed as an Executive Secretary for Cres-Cor, retiring in 1990. During her free time, she could be found decorating cakes or reading books. With pride, Eleanor excelled at flower gardening, especially with roses. Music was also a big part of her life, as she played piano, performed some accompaniment in her younger years, and listened to classical, show tunes and big band music. She found great enjoyment in traveling, especially to Europe and around the United States. Her family describes her as reserved, nurturing and caring, with a wonderful sense of humor.  Above all she was highly devoted to her family and faith. Eleanor passed away on January 26, 2024 and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, 140 Richmond Road, Euclid, Ohio at 11 AM. Burial at All Souls Cemetery at 2:30 PM.
