Eleanor I. Andrassy-Kvetko

ELEANOR I. ANDRASSY – KVETKO (nee Stiber), aged 90 years, beloved wife of the late Ernest Andrassy and the late John Kvetko, “excellent” mother of James (Susan), Stephen (Donna), Cathy Dobrowski (David), Frank (Cheryl), Cynthia Powell (Robert) and Betty Maguder, loving grandmother of Bryan Andrassy (Sarah), Jennifer Nemecek (Patrick), Alexander Andrassy (Emily), Joe Haladay, Katie Haladay (deceased), Sarah Andrassy, Aimee’ Rowland (Nick), Elysse Dobrowski (deceased), Peter Dobrowski, Amanda Brooks (Greg), Joseph Andrassy (Jennifer), Joshua Andrassy, Tiffany Vickery (Casey), Kathryn Scheiferstein (David), Kristin Walsh (Jason),Connor Maguder, Emily Maguder and Nathan Maguder, treasured great-grandmother of 14, devoted daughter of the late Stephan and Elizabeth (nee Demko) Stiber, cherished sister of Joseph Ivanko, Michael Ivanko, Elizabeth Began and twin sister Ann Marie Thomas (all deceased).

Eleanor was born on February 11, 1928 in Cleveland and passed away on April 26, 2018. She grew up in the Buckeye Road area and moved to Lyndhurst in 1974. Around 1988/89, Eleanor moved to Sarasota, Florida where she lived for 29 years. She was very active in the retirement community where she lived. Eleanor greatly enjoyed playing bingo, spending time with her friends, baking, and entertaining family. She worked at Aloha Flowers while living in the retirement community in Sarasota. She blessed many with her presence.

Eleanor worked at Orban’s Flowers Shoppe on Buckeye Rd. for 50 years. This while raising six children. She loved playing cards with her grandchildren, always “crushing” them, having root beer floats on Sunday afternoons with her kids, and the Big Sunday family dinners that followed. Her favorite moments in life were spending time with family and friends, baking, going to church, going to theatre, and cooking.

Some of her hobbies included working puzzles, bingo, sewing, word searches, gardening, water exercises and caring for others.

Eleanor was full of life, quick witted and easy going. She never wanted to know what was going on, but really knew “everything” that was going on. She was creative, artistic and knew how to keep a secret. She never met a stranger, was an “excellent” mother, and always looked to help others- never expecting anything in return. She will be dearly missed by all.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Eleanor suggested to St. Andrew Abbey, 10510 Buckeye Rd., Cleveland, OH 44104.

The family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Eleanor from 10 – 11 AM on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at St. Andrew Abbey. Mass of Christian Burial following at 11 AM. Most Rev. Roger W. Gries, OSB, Celebrant. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID.
