Eleanor Gebacz

Eleanor (Ellie) Gebacz (Wedryk-Wagner), age 92, loving and cherished wife for 55 years to the late Louis, passed peacefully away on May 9th, 2022.

Ellie was an executive secretary for ten years in the office of Louis B Seltzer, the late editor of the Cleveland Press, resigning in 1960 to become a Mom. She returned to work several years later and for twenty years was on the managing staff and an assistant to Edward Baugh, the director of the original downtown Cleveland Home and Flower Show.

She was the devoted and proud mother of Lynn Gebacz/Milosevich (David), West Caldwell, NJ and Lee Law (Stephen), Thornton, PA. The many joys of her life were her grandchildren, Zachary, Isabel, and Ryan. Preceded in death by cherished parents Marie (Knapik) and Stanley, infant twin sisters, loving in-laws, Victoria (Novotny) and Louis, Nanty-Glo, PA and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ellie was selfless and through her life recounted so many wonderful childhood memories which transcended into always putting her family first. Ellie treasured the friendships of the ladies Euclid Bridge Club and all the social events that included vacations and golf the couples enjoyed for over 50 years.

This rich tapestry of her life molded a person who was an amazing listener to all who knew her. She wishes everyone would continue her legacy and share long-ago memories in her honor.

A private interment will take place on May 16th, 2022.
