Eileen Uveges

EILEEN E. UVEGES (nee Major) age 87, entered into eternal rest on March 31, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Joseph S.; loving mother of Joseph L. (wife Rosanne), Kathy Herrera (husband Greg), Diane Saluan (husband Gabriel), Loretta Rooker (husband Dennis), Christine Uveges-Loya (husband Nicholas, deceased), John (wife Sheryl), Michael (wife Carol) and the late Michael John; devoted grandmother of Dominic, Nicole and Gregory Herrera, Deanna Freitas, Gabriel John Saluan (wife Carla), Sarah Lynn Uveges (Mark Ho Luu), Charleton Uveges (fianceé Gina Solitro), Annica and Harrison Uveges, Courtney and Kenneth Rooker and great-grandmother of Sidonia, twins Natalia and Adriana, Gabriel E. and Mason; cherished daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Galdun) Major; treasured sister of Irene Knapik, Marianne Staiger and Tina Wood; fond mother-in-law of Debbie Hart; dear aunt and great-aunt of many; loving friend of Catherine Nahas (Mike McCaffery), Betty Pavlik and many others.

Eileen was born on May 29, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a resident of Jennings Center for 5 years, formerly of Lyndhurst. Eileen graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1947 and St. Alexis Nursing School and St. John College. She loved animals and raising her children. Eileen will be remembered as a larger than life, outgoing, witty and humorous woman. She was a true Renaissance woman and a very happy person. Eileen was faithful and lived her life in Christ. She will be dearly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday, April 3, 2017 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish at 11 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Eileen at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) SUNDAY 2-7 PM.
