EDWARD J. “RIP” RUPENA age 89, beloved husband for 64 years of Violet (nee Vogrin); loving father of Marla and Sharon Currier; cherished son of the late Joseph and Adela (nee Almasy); dearest brother of John (wife Patricia) and the late Joseph, Catherine Stuper (husband Junie) and George (wife Winifred); dear uncle and great-uncle of many. Retired Lt. Euclid Fire Dept. U.S. Army Korean Conflict Veteran.
Edward was born December 22, 1928 and passed away on June 27, 2018. He was a resident of Willoughby Hill for 20 years and has been a member of St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church since 1981. He graduated from Collingwood High School and retired from the Euclid Fire Department as lieutenant. Edward proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Some of Edwards hobbies were jigsaw puzzles, fishing, and gardening. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and loved watching all pro football. Edward will be remembered for being loving, giving, and selfless. He was also known for being a good cook and for his sense of humor. Edward found the most enjoyment in his life when he was spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by many.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church, 5384 Wilson Mills Rd, Highland Heights, OH 44143. Burial following with Military Honors at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Edward at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) FRIDAY 4-8 PM.
