EDWARD M. DeTOMASO, SR., age 92, beloved husband for 71 years of Connie (nee Rositani); loving father of MaryJean (Tony Duszynski) and Edward M. DeTomaso Jr. (wife Debi); devoted grandfather of Don Zawicki, Laura Marazza (husband Nick), Edward W. (wife Ashley) and Emily, and great-grandfather of Giovanni, Cecilia, and Edward M. II; cherished son of the late Thomas and Lucia (nee Marianno) DeTomaso; dearest brother of the late Anna Pecka, Dominic DeThomas, Angie Gaut, Helen Piergostini, Vivian DeMastus, Matthew and Peter DiTomaso, and Joseph DeTomaso; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.
U.S. Army Air Corps veteran.
Ed was born in Cleveland on November 4, 1927 and passed way on June 15, 2020. He was a resident of Willoughby Hills for 30 years, previously of Euclid. Ed was a member of St. Noel Catholic Church, where he was a regular fish fry volunteer. He graduated from Collinwood High School in 1945, and earned his bachelor’s degree from Kent State University and his master’s degree in education from John Carroll University. He worked as an elementary school teacher and then principal for the Cleveland and Euclid public school systems. A seasoned traveler, Ed visited Italy and Hawaii and took many bus tours within the United States. He was funny and social and enjoyed cooking for his family and teaching associates. Ed was passionate but also patient, as well as loving, caring, and positive, and he will be missed by so many.
