Edward P. Guccion

EDWARD P. GUCCION age 98, beloved husband for 70 years of Cecilia (nee Caine); loving father of Brian (Donna) and Mary Lou Manfroni (Butch); devoted grandfather of Patrick Manfroni, Robert Guccion (Lynn), Anne Marie Dunn (Justin), Megan Rosenbaum (Ricky), and Grace Lawless (William) and great-grandfather of Nellie, August, Boone, Rhett, Walsh, Katherine, Mary, Patrick, Edward and Declan; cherished son of the late Peter and Anna (nee McHugh); dearest brother of the late Rita Burton (James deceased); dear uncle and great-uncle of many. WWII U.S. Marine Corp Veteran. 

Edward was born on September 25, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio. Graduating from Holy Name in 1943, he continued his education at Ohio University.  Residing in Lyndhurst for 33 years, he was a devoted customer service manager for Heat Seal in the manufacturing industry.  As a die hard Cleveland Browns fan, he also intently followed high school and college football.  Another enjoyment for Edward was music, mainly big band and Frank Sinatra. His family describes him as hard-working, reserved and a gentle soul. Above all, Edward was highly devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren and his faith.  Edward passed away on January 3, 2024 and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Edward to Hospice of the Western Reserve, PO 72101, Cleveland, Ohio 44192 or the Slovene Home for the Aged, 18621 Neff Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44119.

Friends and family are requested to meet at church for Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Church of the Gesu, 2470 Miramar Blvd, University Heights, Ohio at 11 AM. Private burial following with Military Honors at All Souls Cemetery.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Edward at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) TUESDAY 3-7 PM.
