Edward Emery, Jr.

EDWARD F. EMERY, JR. age 65, beloved husband for 40 years of Patricia (nee Scalzitti); loving father of Julia E. Woodard (husband Kam) and Tim (wife Amy); devoted grandfather of Ben and Emery Woodard; cherished son of Betty (nee Holmes) and the late Edward Emery, Sr.; dearest brother of Richard Emery (wife Tammy); treasured brother-in-law; dear uncle, great-uncle and friend to many. Survived by his loyal NASA family of 30 years.

Eddie was born in Pittsburgh PA, and moved to the Cleveland area in 1976. He went to Youngstown State where he met the love of his life Patricia Scalzitti, they married in 1975 and later moved to the Cleveland area and lived in South Euclid and later built a home in Highland Heights, with the best neighbors in the world. They had two children Julia and Timothy. Eddie worked as a Lab Technician at the Cleveland Clinic for 10 years and as a research electrical engineer for the NASA Glenn Research Center for 30 years. He was a loving husband and beloved grandfather. Eddie enjoyed beach vacations to Hawaii and the Outer Banks, skiing, hiking and enjoyed listening to classic Rock ‘n’ Roll music. Eddie received the most enjoyment in life from his family, vacations and home improvement projects. Going to the Kentucky Derby and the Outer Banks were some of his most special family memories. Friends and family would describe Eddie as loyal, loving, a good friend and jokester. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Memorial Tribute Service Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 5:30 PM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Eddie at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SUNDAY 2-6 PM.
