EDITH A. MILLER (nee Farkas) age 99, beloved wife of the late Frank; loving mother of Shirley Schilling (Robert) and Nancy Mack (Robert); devoted grandmother of Kathleen Ryan (Eric), Susanne Moranville (Martin), Christopher (Denise), Matthew (Becky), Benjamin (Frances) and Rebecca Schilling, Dawn Chinchar (Matt), Laura Mack (Brian Buckingham) and Christina Ice (Bryan) and great-grandmother of 13; cherished daughter of the late Louis and Mary (nee Ruszka) Farkas; dearest sister of the following deceased: William Bela Ruska (Reathel), Louis Farkas, Margaret Tallion (Adam), Stephen Farkas (Jean) and Betty Salvatore (John); dear aunt, great-aunt and friend of many.
Edith was born on May 8, 1918 in Cleveland, Ohio and passed away on December 3, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Edith was the oldest and longest residing resident of Highland Heights, where she lived for 69 years. She was a founding family member of St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church. Edith graduated from John Adams High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Swinging Squares square dancing club, and was active in the Mayfield Township Historical Society and Highland Heights politics. Edith was an original Rosie the Riveter during World War II, riveting B-29 bomber wings and welding naval warships. She loved traveling, especially to Israel and shrines to the Blessed Virgin. Edith enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, learning new things, and attending her prayer group. She was feisty, outgoing, caring, charitable, independent, smart, sentimental, giving, funny, witty, compassionate, and faithful. Edith will be dearly missed.

Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 12 NOON at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church, 5384 Wilson Mills Rd., Highland Heights, Ohio 44143. Private inurnment will take place at a later date at Whitehaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Edith at THE CHURCH THURSDAY MORNING 11-12 NOON. Arrangements by THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS.
