DUANE N. “DUKE” FITZ-PATRICK age 73, beloved husband of the late Darlene A. (nee Robek); loving father of Kimberly Halpern (husband Peleg) and Duane T. (wife Tami); devoted grandfather of Coby, Michaela, Maya, Brady and Brianna; cherished son of the late David and Norma (nee McCreery); dearest brother of James (wife Regina), Shannon (Maureen Dobos) and the late David (wife Marilyn) and Kevin (wife Carol); dear uncle and great-uncle of many.

Duane was born on May 4, 1944 in Youngstown and passed away on July 30, 2017 in Chicago, IL. He was living with his daughter and family in Chicago for the past 4 months, previously residing in Florida and South Euclid, Ohio. Duke was a member of the East Side Irish-American Club. He graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School in Youngstown and attended Youngstown State University. Duke was a project manager and estimator for HVAC companies including EB Katz, Vadakin Refrigeration, R&D Sheetmetal, Northeast Refrigeration, Reliance Mechanical and Superior Installation. He loved golf, socializing, spending time with grandkids and family and traveling.  Duke never missed the opportunity to catch one of his grandkids games; hockey, soccer, baseball and coached many of his son’s teams when he was growing up. Duke was a big Ohio State Buckeye and Cleveland sports fan. He loved his yard work and had the greenest yard in South Euclid. He worked hard and played hard. Duke was always punctual, a perfectionist who was very well respected and had high standards for himself and others. Duke will be remembered most as a friendly, fun-loving, social, hardworking and loyal man who was a good friend and family member to many. He loved getting together with dear friends like the Bridgeview Bunch, his good golf/work buddies and childhood friends. He will be dearly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Gesu Catholic Church at 10 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Duke at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) FRIDAY 3-5 & 6-8 PM.
