DRAGO “CHARLIE” HORVAT, age 55; beloved son of Joseph and Cecilia (nee Zelko); loving brother of Olga Trueman (husband Robert); devoted uncle of Brian Trueman (wife Laura), Kevin Trueman (wife Maria), Michael Trueman (wife Alexandra), Kelly Trueman and great-uncle of 7; dearest nephew of many aunts, uncles and cousins in Slovenia and Canada.
Charlie was born on June 15, 1963 in Winnipeg, Canada and passed away on July 28, 2018. He resided in Burton for the last ten years, and prior to that he had lived in Chesterland. In his youth Charlie attended St. Mary Collinwood Grade School, and graduated from Euclid High School in 1981. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially going to amusement parks and fishing. He also loved building model cars, listening to 60’s and 70’s music, and watching and supporting both the Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers. He was extremely friendly, social, and outgoing, which gave him the ability to strike up a conversation wherever he went. Charlie could make you laugh and put a smile on your face with his funny sense of humor, yet kind and generous soul, and for that he will be dearly missed.
Contributions may be made in Charlie’s memory to American Diabetes Association or to Metzenbaum Sheltered Industry.
