DOROTHY R. MITTERER (nee Craig) age 84, beloved wife for 44 years of the late Leon; loving mother of John, Jeffrey, Joseph, Jackie (David) Rush Barress, Judy, Jim, Jay, and Jennifer (Steve) Kelsey; devoted grandmother of  Tyler, Jordan, Thomas, and Zoe; cherished daughter of the late Marie and Charles (Becky, deceased); dearest sister of Patty (Walter) Mingle, Betty (Bob, deceased) Cernansky, Bob (Geri) Lytle, Eleanor (Frank, deceased) Berger, the late Patrick (Judy) Lytle, and the late Bernie (Jeanie) Lytle; dear sister-in-law of many.

Dorothy grew up in Altoona, PA. and moved to Chardon and remained a lifelong resident. She was very passionate in her faith and was a proud member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed being a part of their senior group and participating in the Empty Nesters events. She would take trips to the library, picking out numerous books, and found peace in reading at home. Dorothy was a provider to her family and truly loved her grandchildren. She has left all who loved her to be with the love of her life in heaven.

Contributions may be made in memory of Dorothy to St. Mary Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 401 North St, Chardon, OH 44024, at 11:30 AM.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Dorothy at THE DeJOHN Funeral Home & Crematory of Chardon (formerly Ritondaro) 126 South St.  (Rt. 44, south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Monday 4-8 PM.

Burial at All Souls at a later date.
