DORIS M. SOVICH (nee Gehring) age 92, beloved wife for 65 years of Edward; loving mother of Stephen, Pamela, Kathleen, James (wife Sandra), Thomas (wife Laurie) and the late Michael (wife Holly, deceased); devoted grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 2; cherished daughter of the late Edward and Marie (nee Thomey) Gehring; dearest sister of David Gehring (wife Josephine) and preceded in death by 1 brother and 2 sisters; dear sister-in-law of Thomas and Toni Sovich and Rita and Joseph Hirsch; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Doris was born February 1, 1926 in Cleveland and passed away May 29, 2018. She was a resident of Lyndhurst since 1958 and previously lived on the West Side. Doris was a parishioner of St. Clare Catholic Church for 65 years and volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister and a Sacristan. She also volunteered for Womankind and worked as a registered nurse. Doris graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1944 and attended St. John College. She loved to swim and travel around the United States, South Africa and Europe. Doris was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was very giving, sweet and gentle. She was very service oriented and faithful to her church and family. She will be dearly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Clare Catholic Church, 5659 Mayfield Rd, Lyndhurst, OH 44124. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Doris at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) TUESDAY 2-4 & 5-8 PM.
