DORIS P. GULAS (nee Peters), aged 96 years, beloved wife of the late Frank, dearest mother of John, cherished daughter of the late John and Adele (nee Harbart) Peters, devoted aunt to Marion Macko (husband John). A sincere thank-you to the staff at Brookdale of Richmond Heights and to Grace Hospice for their compassion and care of Doris.
Doris was born in 1921, the only child to parents John and Adele. At a young age Doris loved watching baseball. She was also into the same things that other girls her age were into like dating and shopping. When she grew up she met her husband Frank and they had a son named John. All and all they were married for 31 years. Doris worked at Halle Bros. downtown in the sales department. Doris was a quiet person with a strong opinion. Her interests ranged from politics to investments. Friends often came to her for common sense advice of life’s issues because they knew she would speak her mind. She also loved cats, as a matter of fact she had two cats as pets, their names were Fritz and Tippy. Doris took care of her ill family as best she could and she enjoyed her retirement by relaxing and napping as much as she wanted.
Private funeral services with burial in Knollwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Doris at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just East of Green Rd.) THURSDAY 4-8 PM.
