DONALD J. MONTGOMERY, age 91; devoted husband for 69 years of Josephine (nee Colino); loving father of Linda DeVito (husband Sam), Donald (wife Karen), David (wife Sara) and the late Marilyn; cherished grandfather of 8 and great-grandfather of 8; dear brother of the late Jeanne Siebert and Phyllis Dublin. World War II U.S. Navy Veteran.
Don was born on March 10, 1925 in Indianapolis, IN and passed away on June 2, 2016. He was a resident of Lyndhurst for 60 years formerly of Chardon. He graduated from East Tech High School and worked for Reliance Electric for 42 years. Don and Josephine were married unexpectedly in St. Luke’s Hospital after a railroad accident on the job 3 days before their planned wedding. He cherished his wife of 69 years. Don enjoyed the weekly visits from his family to the house on Sundays. He loved golfing, bowling and boating. Don was a good man, hard worker, perfectionist and a loving husband and father. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke his family listened. Donald will be greatly missed.
Celebration of Life Service Monday June 6, 2016 at 12 NOON at THE FUNERAL HOME. Burial following with Military Honors at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Don at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) MONDAY 10 AM UNTIL TIME OF SERVICE.
