Donald F. Miskinis

Donald F. Miskinis was born on November 4, 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio and passed away peacefully, in his sleep, on September 3, 2020 in Alpharetta, Georgia.  He grew up in Cleveland and graduated from Benedictine High School in 1954. After graduating, he received a baseball scholarship offer from Kansas University but chose to play baseball in the New York Giants minor league system before enlisting in the U.S. Army.  After being honorably discharged, he worked in the real estate department, eventually rising to the level of Director of Real Estate for the Erie Railroad (Later becoming Erie Lakawanna Railroad), Goodyear and then Firestone.  He attended Fenn College during his working career.  He enjoyed coaching little league baseball and playing fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball, as well as bowling and traveling.  He was a member of St. George Church (Cleveland, OH) serving as an alter boy, while growing up.  He then joined Our Lady of Mt. Carmel (Wickliffe, OH), St. Anselm (Chesterland, OH), and St. Thomas Aquinas (Alpharetta, GA).

Don was a member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters and served as a sponsor. He joins his late wife Sandra (nee Damukaitis), parents John and Stella (nee Gedvill), sister Bernice Ducic and her husband Eli and brother Phil Woods and his wife Virginia in eternal happiness in heaven.  He leaves behind sons Donald “Donnie” J. (fiancé Amy Boone), Robert “Bobby” (husband Wandy) and Michael.  He is survived by his grandchildren Donald “Donnie” J., Jr (wife Christine) and Alexandra “Ali” Nagy (husband Rudy).  Don will be remembered as a hardworking and responsible family man that had a great sense of humor.  He was dedicated and professional.  He was loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
