DONALD F. BURROWS, age 91; survived by his loving children Donald F. Jr. (wife Martha), Deborah Wyckoff (husband Robert), Jessica Boyd (husband Blaine) of MN and Karen Laycock (husband Gary) and their mother Nora Burrows and his dearest companion of 38 years, Doris Gruber; devoted grandfather of 13 and great-grandfather of four.
Mr. Burrows was born on September 3, 1921 in Vineland, NJ. He was a long time resident of the Euclid area. He retired 30 years ago from TRW. Don was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II and was one of the last few survivors residing in Cleveland of the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was a long-time member of Calvary Assembly of God where he served as a Trustee several times; member of American Legion Post #343; member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association’s Lake Erie Chapter; he enjoyed woodworking, calligraphy, photography and especially time with his family.
Tribute Service Friday, September 14, 2012 at 11 AM at Calvary Assembly of God, 28870 Chardon Rd., Willoughby Hills. Pastor David Welle will officiate at the service. Burial following in Western Reserve Memorial Garden with Military Honors. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Don at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
