Dominic C. Vecchio

DOMINIC C. VECCHIO, age 78, beloved husband for 42 years of Leslie (nee Gonsalves); loving father of Dominic Jr. (wife Kara), Douglas and Kenneth; devoted grandfather of Adalyn; cherished son of the late Joseph and Mary (nee Vella); dearest brother of Lana Machurey (husband Frank); treasured son-in-law of Marilyn (nee Bolz) and the late Norman Gonsalves; fond brother-in-law of Linda and the late Michael Lee, Jay and Geri Gonsalves, Lisa and Steve Buschle, and Thomas and MeLisa Gonsalves; dear uncle, great-uncle and friend of many. 

Dominic was born on May 7, 1946, and passed away unexpectedly on March 1, 2025. He graduated from Cathedral Latin in 1964 and John Carrol University in 1970. Dominic was a computer programmer for Progressive Insurance. He was a faithful member of St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church where he was an active member of the Adoration Program, and he also volunteered his time at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. He was a loving husband, Dad and Grandpa. He traveled throughout the US and parts of Europe and enjoyed bowling, gardening, walking and the outdoors. He was a big Cleveland sports fan including the Indians, Browns and Cavs. He was known to be great at networking which could be attributed to his friendly and social demeanor. His giving ways and sense of humor will always be remembered by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Dominic to The Greater Cleveland Food Bank, 13815 Coit Road, Cleveland, OH 44110.

Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church 5384 Wilson Mills Rd, Highland Heights at 10 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Dominic at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) MONDAY MARCH 10, 2025 4-8 PM.
