Dolores M. Lyon

DOLORES M. LYON (nee Seme) age 78, passed away peacefully at her home in Willoughby Hills, OH on November 19, 2021.  Wife of the late Gilbert; cherished daughter of the late Lawrence and Ida (nee Slankauskas) Seme; beloved sister of Michael Seme (wife Marsha, deceased) and the late Larry Seme (wife Ida); loving companion of Jon Corlew and her faithful dog Spencer; dear aunt of Michael (Deb) Seme and Jacquie Seme Hayhurst (husband John); great-aunt of Samantha, Katie, and Riley; treasured cousin and friend of many.

Dolores was born on August 14, 1943 in Cleveland and graduated from Mentor High School in 1961. She worked as an executive assistant at Parker Hannifin Corp., globally supporting executive management and the Board of Directors for 37 years. Dolores was chairwoman of the annual Cleveland Arthritis Foundation fundraising luncheon for many years. She loved animals, antiquing, Corvettes, and everything southwest-inspired. Her love of travel took her to Europe as well as places closer to home. She enjoyed visiting local wineries, drives in the country, dancing, card playing, baking delicious desserts, and handcrafting beautiful greeting cards. She will be remembered as a generous and devoted woman, always putting other’s needs ahead of her own.  Dolores will be dearly missed.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Dolores on Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 11AM – 1 PM at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON RD. (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91). Prayers of Christian Burial at 1PM.  Click here to view.
