Dick James Blum, 72, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, passed away, Sunday, March 18, 2018 at The Cleveland Clinic.

Mass of Christian Burial Friday, March 23 at 12:00 Noon at Holy Angels Church, 18205 Chillicothe Rd., Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44023, with Fr. Bob Stec Principal Celebrant.  Burial will follow at Evergreen Hill Cemetery, 506 South Franklin Street, Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44022.  Family will receive friends Friday 11:00 a.m. until Mass at 12:00 Noon.  The Celebration of Dick’s life will continue immediately following the burial at Hawthorn Club House, 685 Walnut Ridge Trail Aurora, Ohio 44202.

Dick was born October 6, 1945 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Thomas and Antoinette (DeParma) Blum.  He graduated from North Catholic High School in 1963 and despite having been offered a swimming scholarship from the University of Pittsburgh, Dick chose to attend the University of Dayton where he received a B.S. in Business in 1966. He was a member of Delta Delta Tau.  Dick was employed as a sales representative for Brockway Glass, and then became an outside sales agent for International Packings Corporation of Bristol, New Hampshire, Midwest and Ohio territory.  Dick served in the U.S. Army Reserves in DuBoise PA. In 1980, he began his own sales rep company, KEBB Sales.  On September 26, 1992 he married Darlene Blum.  He was an avid golfer, was a member of Shaker Heights Country Club for 29 years and was a founding member of the Blue Coats. He was an active Member FOE #2436 for 20 years where he served as treasurer for 10 years.  He also enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Dick is survived by his wife, Darlene Blum, children, Karen Fisher (William), Elizabeth “Betsy” Robinson (Jeffrey), Brian Blum (Sue); step-children, Michael Barrett, Debra Barrett, and George Graham (Regina Kuzma); sixteen grandchildren, Samantha and Katherine Fisher, Anne (Lukas Calcei), James and Julia Robinson, Derek, Anna and Sarah Blum, John Lauretta, Alexis, Taylor, Mikayla, Isabella and Jaiden Barrett, Vanessa and Emmerson Graham and one great grandchild, Adrianna Barrett. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Thomas Blum, Jr. (Christina).
