Diane Welsh

Diane Welsh (77) of Gates Mills, Ohio passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday July 30, 2020. She was the daughter of Frances Ernst Costello (deceased) and Peter Hallaran (deceased), and granddaughter of Alwin C. and Charlotta Ernst (deceased).

Diane was a life-long resident of Gates Mills, Ohio and attended Hathaway Brown. She graduated from Centenary College, where she studied nursing and worked as an RN before she started a family. Her love of nursing and helping others stayed with her throughout her life. Diane loved the Village of Gates Mills and held many volunteer positions. She served on the board of The Friends of The Gates Mills Library, chaired the Gates Mills Summer Band Concert, served on the Board for Access to the Arts, belonged to The Town & Country Garden Club, and volunteered at Holden Arboretum for many years. She was a lifetime member of The Recreation League of Cleveland, Chagrin Valley Hunt Club, and Kirtland Country Club.

Diane is survived by her husband Edward F. Welsh III and their children Allayne W. Proels (Sebastian) and Edward F. Welsh IV (Sara), and loving grandchildren Alexander (Alex) and Charles (Chaz) Proels and Edward F. (Teddy) Welsh V.
