DEBORAH LYNN BLACKWELL (nee Thomas) age 60, beloved wife for 31 years of Charles Jr.; loving mother of Chazz, DéVon (wife Samantha) and Arlice Horton-Lindsey (husband Sean); devoted grandmother of DéVon Mazimus, Autumn, Jalen, Nia and Aryn; cherished daughter of the late Edwin and Phoebe (nee Manuel) Thomas; dearest sister of Edwina Barron, Darnel Thomas and the late Arlene, Renee and James Thomas; dear aunt and grand-aunt of many.
Deborah was born on October 13, 1958 and passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 30, 2019. She was born and raised in Cleveland and graduated from Jane Addams Business School in 1976. Deborah truly loved to sing and listen to R&B and Gospel. She was a proud member of both the Progeny 5129 Bible Gospel Group and the Lafayette Carthon and Faith Gospel Group. Deborah worked for AT&T as a customer service collection representative, retiring after 32 years. She was a talented seamstress and loved cooking, baking and the Cleveland Browns. Deborah was very social, fun loving and had a witty sense of humor. She will be remembered most as being a faithful, intelligent woman who gave of herself and loved and cared for all those around her. She will be forever missed.
Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Celebration of Life Service Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 2 PM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Deborah at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) SATURDAY NOON- 2 PM.
