David G. Ward

DAVID G. WARD, age 71, of Cleveland Heights, OH, passed away January 27,2024. David was born and raised in Fremont, OH, the son of the late Robert and Thelma Ward. He is survived by his husband, Thomas Nobbe, sister Cynthia (Glen) Sharon of Centerville, OH, niece Kristen Sharon and nephew Michael Sharon, and feline companions, LuLu and Eddie. 

David was a graduate of Ohio State University. He taught French and Spanish after graduation and then trained to be a radiation oncology therapist, working at University Hospitals for 42 years. Warm and caring, David was loved by those he treated for cancer. In addition, David was a lover of all things French, a musician (he played the accordion), an artist, and fabulous cook. Above all, David was an animal lover, especially cats. 

Services will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 2474 Fairmount Blvd. (at Coventry), Cleveland Heights at 3 PM. A reception will follow at the church immediately after the service. Interment will be at Lake View Cemetery at a later date. 

Donations can be made to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.
