David L. Wise

David L. Wise, 55, of Eastlake, passed away May 18, 2012, at Lake Health’s West Medical Center in Willoughby. Born July 11, 1956, in Princeton, W.Va., he had lived in Willoughby before moving to Eastlake seven years ago. David delivered Meals on Wheels and was a very generous, kind selfless person, who was always giving of his time and helping others. David had a great sense of humor and loved to pull pranks on people. Before becoming disabled, he was a welder by trade.

Survivors are his son, Jason (Nicole) of Chagrin Falls; grandchildren, Cameron and Cole; mother, Anna Belle (nee Lawrence); brother, Charles of San Diego, Calif.; and sisters, Patricia Baker of Mentor, Leona Stratman of Chardon, Linda Kooyman of Painesville and Debrah Prohaska of Mentor. He was also the nephew, uncle, cousin and friend of many. He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore.

Tribute service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012, at DeJohn Funeral Home & Crematory of Chardon (formerly Ritondaro), 126 South St. (Route 44, south of Route 6/Chardon Square). Burial will follow at Chester Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of David from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family suggests contributions be made in David’s memory to a local veteran’s organization.
