DANIEL W. RIECK age 62, died unexpectedly at home in his sleep; devoted son of the late Margaret (nee Ledger) and John J. Sr.; loving brother of Bonnie Varanese (husband Tom, deceased), and the late John Jr. and Larry (wife Penny, deceased); cherished uncle of Amy DeBaltzo (husband Nick), Julie DiCillo (husband David), Larry Jr., (wife Kristin), Jacquie Houser (husband Jon), Tom Varanese, Sarah Neff (husband Matthew) and great-uncle of Jake, Abby, Tyler, Darren, Cate, Andrew, Jenna, Allie, Madzie, Jack, Nathan, Jayce, and Josh. 

Dan lived 58 of his 62 years in Mayfield Heights and, as his family shares, he was always a proud Mayfield aficionado. He attended Mayfield High School and worked for over 20 years at Bob Evans. Dan truly loved socializing wherever and whenever, playing pool, and roller-skating. Listening to Elvis gave him great joy. But there was no greater joy for him than being together with family. He particularly enjoyed Thanksgiving being close to his birthday and having his lemon cake. Dan was a proud friend for 38 years of Bill W. and Dr. Bob.

Celebration of Life Service Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Dan at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) WEDNESDAY 4-8 PM.
