Curtis Robinson

Curtis G Robinson came into this world October 18, 1943, to the late Tate and Lucy Robinson. He was the youngest of 6 children and their 2nd son.

He was born in Prairie Point, Mississippi. At a young age Curtis, known as Buddy, accepted Christ as his lord and savior. He was educated though Macon, MS Public School System. Curtis moved with his parents to Cleveland, Ohio in 1962. He met and married his wife Gertrude Greathouse in 1964. To this union was born two sons, Curtis G. Robinson Jr. and Edwin G. Robinson. Curtis opened a chain of Gas Town Gas stations in the greater Cleveland area in the early 1960’s and later sold them to Marathon Oil. After, he went to work for PPG until he retired.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Tate and Lucy (nee Gilkey) Robinson and 5 siblings, Viola (James) Workman, Anne (Mayo) Jefferson, Mary Alice (Arthur) Taylor, Helen (Walter) Johnson and infant Walter.

Curtis was a devoted father, grandfather and uncle until God called him home to rest on April 27th 2015. He leaves to mourn his wife Gertrude G. Robinson, his sons Curtis G. Robinson Jr and Edwin G Robinson, grandchildren Kaija Robinson, Arion Brents, Amanda Lewis-Robinson and Curtis G. Robinson II and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who all loved him.

Funeral services Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the funeral home at 11 AM. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Curtis at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) FRIDAY 4-8 PM.

God looked around his garden and found an empty place and then looked down upon the earth and saw your face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest in his garden. He knew you were suffering, he knew you were pain, so he closed your eyes and whispered “Peace be with Thine.” It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone, for part of us went with you when God called you home.
