Claudia Anderson

Claudia Christine Anderson, 66, of Mayfield Heights Ohio, passed away peacefully after her courageous 2 year battle with ALS on June 13, 2020. Claudia was a graduate of Boardman High School and Youngstown State University. Her career path in higher education took her through several universities, culminating with a 31 year tenure as an Assistant Dean in the Office of Undergraduate Studies at Case Western Reserve University. Claudia was a loving and devoted mother, wife, and sister.

From the moment Claudia entered a room, everyone could feel a sense of warmth and sincerity that put you at ease. Her kindness, understanding, and empathy, were an inspiration to all those who knew her, from her students to faculty, friends, and family. She will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Claudia is survived by her daughter, Caroline, her twin sister, Daria, and her husband, David Merino. She will be inurned at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. A celebration of her life and memorial service will be planned for a later date to be announced.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association-Northern Ohio Chapter.
