Claude Pederson

CLAUDE B. PEDERSON age 83, loving father of Theodore (wife Mary) and Russell; devoted grandfather of Andrew, Sam and Theodore; cherished son of the late Theodore and Ruth (nee Walgreen); dearest brother of Mary, Virginia, and the late Louise, Dorothy, Floyd, Les, Parker, Jerry, and Russell; dear uncle and great-uncle of many. U.S. Army Veteran.

Claude was born in Two Harbors Minnesota to Theodore and Ruth in 1933 and became one of 10 kids. Learning at a young age that hard work never hurt anyone. His family moved to Euclid, Ohio when he was young and he graduated from Euclid High School before joining the Army. During his service to our country he was an MP, served in the Koran War, earned several medals; Good Conduct, Army Occupation (Germany) as well as a National Defense Medal. After his active tour he transferred to Army Reserve’s for another 8 years. His son’s describe their Dad as the “last of the true cowboys”, he was rugged, but the most gentle and helping man you could know. He loved to listen to country music, all boats and especially Light Houses. He was the most hardworking man they had ever known, never taking time off. Claude spent 50+ years as a heavy equipment operator in the local 18 Union. He could take on any man, but was a true gentleman. He loved his boys and loved to do for them even if they never asked. Spending time with them at cook out’s and Holiday’s was his greatest pleasure. Claude was loved greatly and will be missed by so many.

Contributions may be at the funeral home. Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Claude at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) THURSDAY, October 27th from 5-8 PM with Military Honors at 7:45 PM.
