It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Clarence Theodore Schmitz, Jr., age 74, on October 4, 2022. Clarence was a beloved father to his five children, a grandfather, and a devoted husband. An esteemed entrepreneur, Clarence most recently served on the Board of Directors and Chair of the Audit Committee of AECOM and was an avid investor in startups. In 2002, Clarence founded Outsource Partners International, Inc., a startup that would grow to become the largest company dedicated to outsourcing finance and accounting services worldwide. Prior he served as Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer at Jefferies Group, Inc and spent 25 years with KPMG where he served as a National Managing Partner, Chair and a member of KPMG’s Board of Directors. Always active in civic and charitable organizations, he served most recently as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Childhood Cancer Foundation and the Board of Trustees of The City of Hope.

Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Clarence graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a BS in Accounting. Clarence loved nothing more than spending time with his children, who were his greatest joy.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Maria, and his children Karoline and Liam. Devoted father to Denise Kirtley (husband Glenn) and Geoffrey Schmitz (wife Shawna), and the late Clarence T. Schmitz III.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Memory of Clarence to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

Prayers of Christian Burial will be held Friday MORNING, October 14, 2022 at 11AM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Clarence at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) FRIDAY 9-11AM.
