Cindy Bernot aged 65, passed away on Thursday May 18, 2023. Cindy was born on April 15, 1958 in Euclid, Ohio where she was the youngest of 4 children. Beloved wife for 41 years of Andy Bernot; loving mother of Nate and Matt; cherished daughter of Al and Laverne Hoynacke; devoted sister of Kathleen Buehner (Robert), Dale Hoynacke (Bonnie) and the late Keith Hoynacke.

Cindy was a bright light for this world and a catalyst for making people feel welcome, included and important. Cindy was an artist from her early school days and she used her talent through the years to brighten the lives of others. After college she was an Art teacher in the Mentor School District. She had a ten-year career with Progressive Insurance where she was Art Director. In her third career she was office manager at Pico Canyon Elementary School.

Cindy and family moved throughout the country living in Mentor Ohio, Sylvania Ohio, Coppell Texas, Groton Massachusetts, Valencia California and Macedonia Ohio. Cindy founded CAB Art Studio where she used her amazing talent in painting to brighten workspaces and homes. She created over 100 custom pieces that are installed in buildings in California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Alaska and Hawaii. Cindy’s lasting legacy is her love of family and friends, her unique ability to make everyone feel as the most important person in the room and how she used her artistic talent to brighten the world of so many people. In her final battle with breast cancer she will be remembered for her courage and strength. She is a hero!

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday June 3, 2023 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, 140 Richmond Road, Euclid, Ohio at 9:30 am. Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Cindy at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON RD FRIDAY  JUNE 2, 2023 from 3-8PM.
