CHRISTINE T. BUKOWSKI (nee Abraham), 70, died on Jan. 12, 2019 with her beloved husband and daughter by her side. Christine is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ronald, daughter Colette, mother Evelyn, sister Marci (Bill) Crawford, and nephew Billy. She is preceded in death by her father William, daughter Bridgette, and in-laws Mathew and Henrietta.
Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, she married her first love, a boy from the neighborhood, who she would (and did) follow anywhere. Shortly after their wedding in 1967, Christine and Ron moved to Cleveland so Ron could train at the Cleveland Clinic. Beginning in 1969, they spent three amazing years in Germany, during Ron’s time in service, where they had their first child, Bridgette, and forged many life-long relationships and fond memories. From Germany, they returned to Cleveland, where Ron finished his residency and they had their second child, Colette. Cleveland was their home for more than 45 years.
A devout Catholic, with an unshakeable faith, Christine was one of a kind. Her laughter will echo in our ears and her love will remain in our hearts, eternally. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, a great big sister, a beautiful wife, an incredible mother, the best aunt you could ask for, a loyal friend, and an example of extraordinary strength and compassion. She taught us the meaning of family and truly was the glue that held us all together. Christine was a phenomenal cook and could host a party like no other. She was loved by all and will be missed.
Please join us in celebrating Christine’s life and honoring her in death. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019 at Gesu Catholic Church at 11 AM. Private burial in All Souls Cemetery. The family will receive friends at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just East of Green Rd.) FRIDAY 4-8 PM.
