Chester D. Zielinski

CHESTER D. ZIELINSKI age 80, beloved husband of the late Kathryn (nee Myernik); loving father of  David Zielinski (Cathy), Stephanie Sorohan, Laura Sorohan-McGinty (Thomas), and the late Mark Zielinski and Audrey Sorohan; devoted grandfather of Sheridan, Michael, Krista, Colin, Liam, Sarah (Aaron), Daniel (Carson), Megan (Justin) and Grace; caring great-grandfather of Nolan, Joshua, Adelynn, Aspen, Silas, Lennon and Lincoln; cherished son of the late Edward Ciesicki and Bertha (nee Zielewicz); dearest brother of Pat Lucas (Jimmy dec) and the late Edward Ciesicki  (Kelly); dear uncle to several nieces and nephews.

Chester was born in Cleveland on November 7, 1943, and passed away on December 11, 2023. He graduated from Bedford High School. He married the love of his life Kathryn and loved her unconditionally and took great care of her. Chester was an electrician by trade and retired from General Electric with over 30 years of service after several prior attempts to retire. His hobbies included shooting, fishing, boating, motorcycles, traveling, lawn care and watching Cleveland sports. He loved country music, especially Willie Nelson and John Denver.

Chester was a neighborly guy who was always quick to lend a hand. Chet enjoyed smoking cigarettes, drinking beer, going to the casino, sitting by the pool and his grandkids. People who knew him best would describe him as lovable, loyal, sociable, steadfast and patient. He provided his family with security and a strong foundation.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Chester to The National Kidney Foundation or to The Humane Society.

Prayers of Christian Burial Friday, December 15, 2023, at 11AM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Chester at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) THURSDAY from 6-8 PM.
