CHARLES ANTHONY ZIELINSKI, age 85, of Loveland, Ohio.  Beloved husband for 57 years of the late Catherine Marie (nee Lunney); loving father of Brenda Burton (Jay), Charles (Heather) and Michael (Mary); proud grandfather of Christine Work (Brad), Rebecca Sulzer (Drew), Katie Alvarado, Charles Burton, Caroline, Erin, Alexis and Adam Zielinski; Great Grandfather of 6 ; dearest brother of Christine Schott and the late Henry (wife Barbara), and Irene Kostuk (husband John, deceased).

Born on October 28, 1934, Charlie was raised in Chelsea, MA, and was a proud Bostonian and diehard New England sports fan.  He attended St. Stanislaus parochial school, Chelsea High, Northeastern University and graduating from Boston College in 1957.  He earned an MBA from Xavier University shortly thereafter.  Charlie met Marie while attending BC, who was a nursing student and they married in May, 1960.  Although they moved around the country (Houston, Atlanta, Knoxville), Cincinnati eventually became their home because of the amazing friends and neighbors.  Charlie and Marie enjoyed their Manhattans together every Sunday at 4pm, which became a family tradition.

Charlie worked for several companies in a sales capacity, but was most proud of his service in the US Marine Corp, attaining the rank of Lt. Col.  Having served in the Korean Conflict.  Charlie and Marie enjoyed traveling extensively around the world including China, southeast Asia, Europe, Australia, Europe as well as their respective homelands, Poland (Charlie) and Ireland (Marie).

He played football throughout his college years and enjoyed many sports: golf, running as well as neighborhood volleyball and softball games, that often became quite competitive.  Charlie was also an avid reader.

Later in life, Charlie enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s activities, including field and ice hockey, soccer, tennis, softball, basketball games, piano recitals, Cheer & Dance events.  He was always on the go and their biggest fan.  Charlie was extremely proud of his family and their successes.  But most of all, Charlie adored his loving wife, Marie, and talked about her daily, even in his final days.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Charlie to the Cleveland  Clinic’s Brain Tumor & Neuro-Oncology department.
