Charles Veleba

CHARLES ‘CHARLIE’ VELEBA age 66, beloved husband for 18 years of Bonnie (nee Rathbone); proud father of Travis; cherished son of the late Charles and Betty (nee Greenley); dearest brother of Jill Sell; dear uncle of Kim, Taylor (Jason), Abi, Jacob, Luke, Gavin, Regan, Dan, Kenny (Toni), Keegan, Logan and great-uncle of Morgan; son-in-law of Janet and the late Robert Rathbone; brother-in-law of Debbie (husband Tony) McElhinny and Robert (wife Nadine) Rathbone.

Charlie was a member of the Odd Fellows, Mensa Society, and Local 33. He graduated from Solon High School in 1973 and attended the Ohio State University and Kent State. Charlie was employed in the sheet metal and manufacturing industry. In his free time, he enjoyed making maple syrup, gardening, and cooking. He loved attending Travis’ sporting events and watching Cleveland and OSU sports. Charlie will be remembered by his reserved character, willingness to give and help, and quick wit. He was so proud and devoted to ‘his little buddy’, Travis and truly was the most loving husband. He will be dearly missed by so many in the days to come.  

Contributions may be made in memory of Charlie to Juvenile Diabetes in lieu of flowers.

Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Cremation handled by THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.).
