CHARLES OREND VIMMERSTEDT age 80, beloved husband of Kay (nee Mary Kay Hinsberg), loving son of the late Charles and Katherine; devoted brother of the late Nedra Sattler and Norma Fabrizio (husband Roland “Cookie”); dearest brother-in-law and uncle of many.
Charlie was born on January 26, 1942, and raised in Youngstown, Ohio. He died peacefully February 4, 2022, just a week after celebrating his 80th birthday. He graduated from South High in Youngstown, and in 1964 earned his electrical engineering degree from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. In 1968 he received an MBA degree from the University of Detroit. He also worked as an electrical engineer for Detroit Edison. He and his wife, Kay, lived in Richmond Heights for 47 years after spending 7 years in Chagrin Falls. Charlie was the owner/operator of Drivex-North. His greatest enjoyment was spending time and traveling with Kay. Chuck had very good wit, was extremely intelligent and always a kind man. He will be dearly missed.
Contributions may be made in memory of Charlie to any charity or other cause of your choice. A Celebration of Life or other gatherings may be announced at a later date.
