Charles Martis

CHARLES G. MARTIS, beloved husband for 60 years of Marie (nee Della); loving father of Charles “Chazz”, Michael (wife Catherine) and Gina Della; devoted grandfather of Nicholas, Thomas, Matthew, Maria, Katie and Stephen. U.S. Army Veteran.

Charles passed away on March 24, 2017. He was a member of the ROTC at The Ohio State University and attained the rank of 1^st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He graduated from Ohio State and from Ohio State University School of Law.  Following his service in the Army, Charles served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Ohio, after which he returned to Cleveland, where he joined National City Bank, eventually becoming a Vice President. He loved golfing, gardening, and classical music and was an avid fan of Ohio State sports. Charles was a generous, loving, selfless and giving person. He will be greatly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial Friday, March 31, 2017 at St. Clare Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Private Entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Charles at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) Thursday 4-8 PM.
