Charles F. Nagel, 96, of Munson Township, passed away March 20, 2013, at Blossom Hill Health Care Center in Huntsburg.
Born Nov. 15, 1916, in Topeka, Kan., he was a former resident of Cleveland Heights before moving to Munson Township 16 years ago.
Mr. Nagel was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was a Lieutenant Jr. Grade on submarines in the Pacific. He was a graduate of USC where he was second on the golf team. His hobbies included taking care of his beloved dogs, golfing and listening to opera. He also loved art.
Mr. Nagel was employed as a commercial and residential architect for a variety of firms.
Survivors are his daughter, Jean (Charles) Knox of Munson Township; and grandchildren, Robert C. Knox and Julia Roark Calnek.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan C. (nee Gray) Nagel, who died in 2004; parents, Charles and Ida L. (nee Zickefosse) Nagel; and sister, Betty Ann Darst.
Cremation was handled by DeJohn Crematory.
Family suggests contributions may be made in Charles’ memory to ASPCA.
