Catherine M. Rajnicek

CATHERINE M. RAJNICEK (nee Gerber), age 96, beloved wife of the late Francis for 69 years; loving mother of Christine Posner (husband Stuart), Joan Churchwell (husband Ron), Kathleen Plautz (husband William), Susan Watson (husband Vic), and the late Mark; devoted grandmother of Tamara, Scot, Mark, Trevor, and Taylor and great-grandmother of 2; cherished daughter of the late George and Agnes (nee Ursem) Gerber; dear aunt and great-aunt of many. 

Catherine was born on September 13, 1928, in Cleveland, Ohio. Upon graduation from St. Stevens High School in 1946, she remained a lifelong resident of the area. She married the love of her life, Francis, and the two were blessed with five children. Kay was a member of the 80th Division Veterans Association with her husband, served as the president and vice president of the Women's Auxiliary, and was a member of the Steven's Club. She enjoyed the simplicities of life. During retirement, she and Fran enjoyed many international travels. She also busied herself with cross stitching, ceramics, reading and later enjoyed the senior activities at Concord Reserve. On March 26, 2025, Catherine passed away. There is comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her parents, husband and son, Mark.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Catherine to Hospice of the Western Reserve. 

Mass of Christian Burial Friday, March 28, 2025, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2256 Clague Rd, Westlake, OH 44145, at 10AM.
