CAROLYN LEE RAVEN (nee Salona) age 78, beloved wife for 56 years of Kaj Laurence “Larry”; loving mother of Mary Beth Gersten (husband Don) and Michael; devoted grandmother of Nicolas Kaj Tyler and step-grandchildren Richard (fiancé Shawna Ward) and Jennifer (fiancé James Johnson); cherished daughter of the late Mitchell and Alice (nee Kelley) Salona; dearest sister of Janice Scibbe (husband Herbert deceased) and the late John Salona; dear aunt to Cindy Braun (husband Jeff), Rebecca Jeric (husband Jeff), Stacy Westphal (husband Vince), Jennifer Tringhese (husband Terry), Angela Rohm, her beloved feline companion Eduardo and great-aunt of many.

Carolyn was born on September 13, 1939 in Middlefield Ohio and passed away on December 7, 2017. She was a resident of Willoughby Hills and was a parishioner of Willoughby Hills United Methodist Church. Carolyn was the church treasurer for over 25 years and belonged to The Rachel Circle for 56 years. She graduated from Riverside High School as 2nd in her class where she was a member of the marching band, the theater, loved politics and sports and proudly voted “most talkative.” She attended Ohio State University for 1 year. Carolyn worked in banking for 4 years but her true love was being a homemaker. She greatly enjoyed gardening, walking at Holden Arboretum, and going to tea. Her favorite music was anything from the 20’s to the 40’s. Carolyn received the most enjoyment out of life by taking care of her family and volunteering at her church. In her free time, she enjoyed watching all the Cleveland Indians games on Tv and listening to them on the radio at the same time, and she never forgot her Browns. Carolyn was kind, selfless, caring, and always giving to others and will be dearly missed by all.

Celebration of Life Service Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Willoughby Hills United Methodist Church 34201 Eddy Rd., Willoughby Hills, OH 44094. Cremation following by DeJohn Crematory. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Carolyn at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) MONDAY 3-7 PM.
