Carolyn C. Huntsberger

CAROLYN C. HUNTSBERGER (nee Krabill) age 89, beloved wife for nearly 67 years of the late Jack Huntsberger; loving mother of Jeff (wife Sally) and Heidi Watson (husband Bill); devoted grandmother of Dave (Karen) Watson, Jason (Jess) Huntsberger, Steve (Megan) Watson, Kristen (Dean) Miller, Tim (Jasmin) Watson, Josh Watson, Sarah (Matt) Dorsky, and Nate (Ally) Huntsberger; and great-grandmother of 17; cherished daughter of the late Carl and Ruth (nee DeWalt) Krabill; dearest sister of the late Richard Krabill (wife Irene); dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Carolyn was born on December 15, 1931, in East Canton, Ohio, and passed away peacefully on September 16, 2021, after a long illness.  She was a resident of Chesterland, since 1960, and a member of Mayfield Church.  She graduated from Mount Union College with a teaching degree and played flute in the marching band.  She was a proud member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority.

Carolyn loved her work as a kindergarten teacher at Mayfield Center Elementary where she taught for more than 30 years.  Heidi and Jeff are still asked, “Are you related to Mrs. Huntsberger?”  After she retired, she enjoyed running in 5K and 10K races, and won many medals including for the Johnny Cake Jog. Carolyn loved spending time with her family, especially gathered around the pool at her Caves Rd, Chesterland, home.

Carolyn was an avid potter, gardener and artist.  She had a sparkling, creative personality that would light up a room.  She was a bundle of energy, beauty, and joy.  She will be dearly missed.

Celebration of Life Service in memory of Carolyn SUNDAY, OCT 24, 2021, at 1:30PM at Mayfield Church, 7747 Mayfield Rd, Chesterland, 44026 where family will receive ONE HOUR PRIOR TO SERVICE.  Reception to follow Service.  Arrangements by DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND.
