Caroline Popelka

CAROLINE E. POPELKA (nee Schmitz) age 94; Beloved wife of the late Stephen; loving mother of Ronald (deceased), Patricia Nowak, and Robert (wife Carol); devoted grandmother of Theresa Zickert, Robbie (wife Jessica), Kristi, Michael, Ronald Nowak (wife Michelle), Michelle Woodbridge (husband John) and Christine Nowak; devoted great-grandmother of six; dear sister of the late Richard, George, Alfred, Fred and Elmer Schmitz, Adele Zusy, and Lillian Popelka; dear aunt and great aunt of many.

Caroline was a resident of Auburn for four years, after moving from Maple Heights. A homemaker, Caroline was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church. She enjoyed going to Indians’ games, writing poetry, painting and cake decorating. Spending time with her family gave her more pleasure than anything – especially during the holidays! Her family will fondly remember her as an even-tempered woman who had a great sense of humor and was able to keep life well in perspective.

Relatives and friends are requested to meet for Mass of Christian Burial Monday, April 7, 2014 at St. Helen Church at 10 AM. Burial later at Crown Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends and pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Caroline at THE DEJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY OF CHARDON (formerly Ritondaro) 126 SOUTH ST. (Rt. 44, south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) SUNDAY 1-4 PM.
