CARMEN J. TRANCHITO, age 88, beloved husband of the late Sandy (nee Tonni); cherished son of the late Natale and Josephine (nee Valenti); dear brother of the late Anthony (Viola), Sarah, Nick (Lucille), Leo (Dorothy), Joseph (Barbara), and Natale; devoted uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews; and devoted godfather to many goddaughters and godsons. U.S. Army Veteran.
Carmen was born on October 14th, 1936, to Natale and Josephine in Cleveland Ohio. He graduated from Collinwood High School in the class of 1956. Carmen was employed at Collinwood Railroad for over 30 years and was a hardworking and reliable employee throughout his time there. One of his favorite jobs was working at Euclid Beach as a teenager. He also made the honorable decision to serve our country by joining the United States Army. Carmen loved his country, and was proud to have served. Alongside his commitments to his job and country, Carmen was a member of the Lions Club of Mayfield for over 30 years, as well as the Collinwood Railroad Hills and Collinwood Memories Clubs.
Carmen was a man of many hobbies, which included bowling, golf and reading. He was a fan of the Golden Girls as well as both the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Cavaliers. His favorite band was the Four Seasons, and he could often be found listening to their incredible catalog of music. Above all, Carmen was a man who loved life and people. He was never shy when it came to making conversation and what gave him the greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family and friends. Carmen was called home to heaven on April 17th, 2025. He will be dearly missed, and he has undoubtedly left a mark on the hearts of everyone who knew him.

Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church (15712 Kipling Ave, Cleveland, OH 44110-3104) at 10 AM. Burial following with Military Honors at Calvary Cemetery (10000 Miles Ave, Cleveland, OH 44105). Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Carmen at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church (15712 Kipling Ave, Cleveland, OH 44110-3104) THURSDAY MORNING 9:30 - 10:00 AM. Cremation by DeJohn Crematory.
