Carmella “Millie” Chaves (Imperial)

CARMELLA “MILLIE” CHAVES
Carmella “Millie” Chaves (nee Imperial) age 88, of Chardon passed away suddenly at her residence on June 2, 2013. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Liborio and Grace Marie (nee Guida) Imperial. She lived in Wickliffe and Chesterland before moving to Chardon 8 years ago. Millie was an electrical assembler for Bailey Meter and LFE in Chesterland.

Millie is survived by her daughters, Patricia A. (Robert T.-deceased) Gash of Painesville and Beverly M. (Edward) Carson of Chardon; grandchildren Robert (Gretchen) Gash, Candace (Daniel) Welter, Lauren, Erin and Edward, IV Carson; great-grandmother of Anthony and Gabriella Gash, Andrew and Caityn Welter. She was a beloved aunt, great-aunt, cousin and sister-in-law of many.

She was preceded in death by her husband Galer M.; sister Eleanor Brownwell; brothers Jasper “Jay” and Dominic “Danny” Imperial.

Millie volunteered at the Multipurpose Senior Center in the Low Vision Dept. which is a division of the Geauga County Dept. of Aging. She also was a poll worker for the Geauga County Board of Elections. In addition, her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, and gardening.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, June 8, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church (Chardon) at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.

Contributions may be made in Carmella’s memory to Geauga County Dept. of Aging, 12555 Ravenwood Dr. Chardon OH 44024.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Millie at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) FRIDAY 3-5 and 6-8 PM.
