Carl Trunk

CARL V. TRUNK age 91, beloved husband of the late Edna (nee Webb); loving father of Doris Gazdagh, Jim (wife Karen) and Lee (wife Pam); devoted grandfather of Kristy and William Gazdagh (wife Daphne), Tony Premura, Richelle, Lee Jr., Aaron and Kyle Trunk and great-grandfather of Raeanne, Jace and Madeleine Gazdagh; cherished son of the late August and Georgina Trunk; dearest brother of Larry (wife Marsha) and the late Florence Maroldt (husband Joseph, deceased), John (wife Joan), Niles and Dennis; dear uncle and great-uncle of many. WWII U.S. Navy Veteran.

Carl was born on December 20, 1925 in Cleveland and passed away on February 28, 2017. He was a recently a resident of Burton, formerly of Macedonia for 25 years. Carl worked as a tool and die maker and retired at 58. He loved to fish and enjoyed listening to all kinds of music, especially polka and country which Carl loved to sing loudly.

Family was the most important thing to Carl, he was a loving and supportive father and husband. Carl loved everything that he did with his three children, all of whom he adopted. He enjoyed NASCAR and sports. Carl will be remembered most as an easy going, generous, loving, reliable and great man. He was a true family man, was proud of his service to his country and never complained about anything. Carl will be dearly missed.

Prayers of Christian Burial Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 12:30 PM at THE FUNERAL HOME with Military Honors to follow. Cremation following by DeJohn Crematory. Carl and Edna will be entombed together on June 26, 2017 at 11 AM at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH.  Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Carl at THE DeJOHN Funeral Home & Crematory of Chardon (formerly Ritondaro) 126 South St.  (Rt. 44, south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) SATURDAY 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM.
