Carl Munn

CARL R. MUNN age 85, former husband of Alice M. (deceased), Jean (deceased), and Margie; loving father of Marcia Kukral (husband James), Jeffrey (wife Linda), Gregory (wife Alice A.), Sabrina Williard (husband Martin), Joshua (wife Alicia), Tara Munn and Kristen (Workman) Stahlhut (husband Sean); devoted grandfather of 20 and great-grandfather of 14; cherished son of the late Carl A. and Ida M. (nee Riczinger); dearest brother of Franklin (deceased) (wife Ruth) and Bruce (Sarah); dear uncle and great-uncle of many.

Carl was born on March 16, 1931 and passed away on September 10, 2016. He was a thirteen year resident of Mayfield Heights and previously resided in Newbury. Carl had been a parishioner of the Old Stone Church in Cleveland since 1968, while there he was a Trustee, President and Treasurer. He was also a Deacon and Elder. Carl was the work horse on his high school football team as the fullback and was Valedictorian of Newbury High School in 1949, and graduated from John Carroll University in 1953. He was President and owner of Cleveland Freight Lines. Carl enjoyed golfing, swimming and Church. He loved sports including the Indians, Browns and Cavs. Carl enjoyed listening to Nat King Cole, and Glenn Miller. His family and friends would describe him as hardworking, generous and organized. He was always friendly and had a positive outlook. Carl will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Celebration of Life Service Saturday, September 17th, 2016 at 1 PM at The Old Stone Church. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Carl at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) FRIDAY 2-4 & 5-8 PM. Cremation to follow by DeJohn Crematory.
