CARL M. EFFINGER age 78, beloved husband for 49  years of Gloria (nee Iorio); loving father of Dawn Hughes and Toni Pinzone (husband Alfio); devoted grandfather of Alfio Jr. and Dominic Pinzone, Lauren Hughes, Ava Pinzone, Jacob Hughes and Julia Pinzone; cherished son of the late Edward and Maxine (nee Beinoff); dearest brother of Louis (wife Dean), Linda and the late James Effinger; dear brother in law, uncle, great-uncle and friend of many. U.S. Marine Corp Veteran.

Carl was born on May 27, 1941 and passed away peacefully on August 1, 2019. He lived in Willoughby Hills for the past 5 years and previously Lyndhurst. Carl attended West Tech High School and graduated from Cleveland State University in 1992. He was a parishioner of St. Paschal Baylon Church. Carl was a manager for Ameritech for 33 years and after retiring worked for Home Depot since 2001. He was a huge Indians fan and enjoyed playing video games. Carl liked gardening and listening to Elvis, The Beatles and Frank Sinatra. Disney World was by far his favorite place to travel. Carl was hard working, selfless, very helpful, funny and truly devoted to his family. He will be remembered most as having a kind soul with a friendly and witty personality. He will be forever missed.

Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Relatives and friends are requested to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 10:30AM at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church 5384 Wilson Mills Road Highland Hts., Oh 44143. Burial following with Military Honors at Knollwood Cemetery. Arrangements by DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home and Crematory of Willoughby Hills.
