CAMILLA T. “KIM” NOONAN, formerly of Kirtland, OH, was born January 5, 1938 and passed away after a long illness on February 11, 2013 at Heather Hill Nursing Home in Chardon. Kim was an expert equestrienne, a trainer and exhibitor of horses both under saddle and in harness for which she earned many accolades throughout the United States. A member of the American Quarter Horse Association, she was instrumental in originating the Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, Ohio. She was an original founder of the Horse Trader magazine, which she published in Willoughby, Ohio. Stories of her cross-country travels entertained readers, as well as her friends and students. As an instructor of riding, Kim was greatly admired by all of her students. She is remembered for her love of all animals. An avid collector of antiques, she was also an accomplished artist, winning awards for drawing and photography. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Camilla Tierney Noonan, her brother John and her sister Ann Noonan Pearce. She is survived by seven nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Kim’s memory to Callistian Guild, P.O. Box 605310, 10000 Miles Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44105. Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Divine Word Catholic Church 8100 Eagle Rd, Kirtland, Ohio 44094. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery.
