Calvin Clark

CALVIN JAY CLARK; age 15, of Mayfield Heights, passed away after his battle against a high grade glioblastoma on May 6, 2024. 

He is survived by his much-loved mother Gretchen Toman-Clark; adored grandmother (Baba) Susan Toman; his father figure Brian Taylor (daughters; Allison and Chelsea); dear nephew of Jay Toman (wife Michele); dearest great-nephew of Arnold Podojil; adored cousin of Anna, Luke and Mark Toman, Charlene Camino, Lisa Ring (husband Craig), Vicky Celebreeze (husband Bob) and Denise Saltsman (husband Mark). Also survived by many more cousins and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Jack Toman, his loving great aunt, Mary Jane Podojil, his cousin Carmen Camino, most adored Godmother, Cassidy Camino and our sweet angel, Abriana Camino.

Calvin was a freshman at Mayfield Heights High School. He earned his varsity letter this year with the Cheer Team. He could be seen on the sidelines of football and basketball games cheering with his friends. He also had a love for the theater. Prior to his illness, he made his debut appearance in the Little Mermaid production, as a stingray, led by the Mayfield Vocal Schools Program. He enjoyed many plays at Playhouse Square with his mom and grandmother; The Lion King was his favorite. He was the heart of our family. His smile lit up any room he was in. His laugh was contagious. Nothing made him happier than being with his family and friends. He loved animals, especially his dogs Ramona and Ziggy.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday, May 13, 2024 at 10 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6850 Mayfield Road, Gates Mills, Ohio. PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. 

Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Calvin at DEJOHN FUNERAL HOME AND CELEBRATION CENTER, 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD, CHESTERLAND OHIO, SUNDAY, MAY 12, 2024 FROM 3-8 PM.
