C. JAMES CARLSON age 78, beloved husband for 50 years of Deborah  (nee Juskiewicz); loving father of Kim Bordine, Cheryl Derby Okumu, Clarence James (Fatima) Carlson, III., Christopher James (Denise) Carlson, Victoria Drucker, Charles Jeffrey (Nicole) Carlson; devoted grandfather of Jarett Drucker, Adam Drucker, Anthony Carlson, Hannah Carlson, Tabari Iverson, Charlotte Carlson, Riley Carlson, Jessica Hunzinger, Brett Byrnes, Keri Simmerer, Rachel Bordine, Randall Pearson and great-grandfather of several; cherished son of the late Clarence James and Helen Louise (nee Cedarquist); dearest brother of infant deceased Charles Jeffrey Carlson.

Jim was born on August 28, 1942 in Jamestown, New York and passed away on April 11, 2021. Upon graduation from DeVilbiss High School, he went on to obtain his insurance license. This led him to his career as Marketing Director for Farm Ranch Healthcare, through Carlson Insurance Services where he was a licensed insurance agent. Although his career sent him traveling all over the east coast with his wife Debbie, he and Debbie resided in Chardon, Ohio and attended St. Mary Catholic Church for 49 years. He proudly served the church as an usher, Eucharistic Minister, and member of the Knights of Columbus. He also enjoyed spending time with the friends he made in the Empty Nesters Group. Jim was an avid IndyCar and United States Auto Club race fanatic. He loved spending time with his family at the ocean. Together they would go sailing, fishing, and walk the beach. He also enjoyed Ancient Oriental Art and loved adding new pieces to his collection. Jim was an amazing man to everyone. He was a loving husband to his wife Debbie, a devoted father to his children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren, and loyal friend to all. Jim was a jokester with the ability to make a quiet room fill with laughter and tears of joy. His presence was kindhearted and everyone he met felt comfortable in his company. For these things, he will be dearly missed.
